Lake Erie College (2-11-1, 0-11 GLIAC) scored two goals but it was not enough in a 6-2 loss to Northwood University (5-9, 3-9), at the Midland Soccer Complex in Midland, Mich.
Amanda Watson gave the Timberwolves a 1-0 advantage less than five minutes into the game but the Storm answered back in the 11th minute when freshman midfielder Chrissy Poulos (North Royalton, Ohio/North Royalton) connected on a cross from freshman midfielder Paige Nemec (Mantua, Ohio/Crestwood) for her first collegiate goal. Northwood regained the lead in the 26th minute on a goal from Tonya Sitney and Alyssa Tomassi scored twice in the final three minutes of the first half to give the Wildcats a 4-1 advantage and put the game away.
Tomassi picked up where she ended the half as she netted her third goal in seven minutes in the 49th minute. Sitney got her second goal of the day in the 71st minute and freshman forward Misty Porter (Reno, Nev./North Valleys) scored her second goal of the season in the 84th minute for the final 6-2 margin.
