BAY CITY, Mich.—The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) unveiled the 2016 Preseason Women's Soccer Coaches Poll in conjunction with their media day Thursday (Aug. 11).
The Storm was predicted to finish 10th in the conference.

Ashland University received 104 points the remaining first-place vote to finish the poll in second. Ferris State University (99 points), Ohio Dominican University (90 points) and Michigan Tech University (83 points) rounded out the top five.
The poll was released as part of the conference's media day website, which features previews from all GLIAC teams and brief interviews with each head coach.
The Storm enter the 2016 under the guidance of new Head Coach Reni Lawrence, who previously served as an assistant coach during the 2015 season. They ended their 2015 campaign with a 4-12-2 overall record and a 2-8-2 mark in GLIAC play. However, five of those losses were by one goal.
The two leading goal scorers for the Storm are back this season- Ashley Pryce and Elizabeth Awuah. Pryce led the Storm with seven goals and one assist while Awuah netted five goals. Aleeya Clemons and Elizabeth Roesch also had a pair of goals and an assist for the Storm.
Defensively, the Storm returns a veteran group that saw significant playing time in 2015. Goalkeeper Marissa Brannon started all but one game last season for the Storm, making 120 saves. In front of her are Alecia Dipre, Emily Elkins, Bethany Haramis, Brett Pauff and Rebecca Cornell. The group allowed 2.33 goals per game last season.
