PAINESVILLE, Ohio-The Lake Erie College women's soccer team looks to rebound from a loss in their last game with the last two games of the current four game homestand. The Storm will play host to the Michigan Tech University Huskies on Friday (Oct. 14) and Northern Michigan University Wildcats (Oct. 16).
Storm Report: Lake Erie enters the weekend of play with an overall record of 7-5 and a 2-4 GLIAC standing. The Storm defeated Ferris State 2-1 but fell to #1 Grand Valley State 8-0 last weekend.
GLIAC Honorable Mention: Seniors Kynslie Murphy (Parma, Ohio / Valley Forge) and Elizabeth Roesch (Pickerington, Ohio / Pickerington Central) were named to the GLIAC Honorable Mention list for last week on offense and defense, respectively. Murphy scored one goal on two shots along with an assist as well. Roesch had one assist for the week for the Storm.
Series History: Lake Erie has faced off with Michigan Tech and Northern Michigan six times since the Storm joined the conference. Against Michigan Tech, Lake Erie holds a 0-5-1 record. Northern Michigan has won all six matchups to date in the series. The Huskies defeated the Storm 2-1 on the road while the Wildcats shutout the Storm 1-0 last season.
Opposition Position: Michigan Tech holds an 8-2-1 overall record and a 4-1-1 conference record heading to Painesville. The Huskies defeated Northwood 3-0 on Sunday (Oct. 9). Northern Michigan beat Saginaw Valley State 2-1 to improve to 2-8-2 overall and 1-3-2 in the GLIAC.
Storm Forecast: After the weekend, the Storm will travel to face Ohio Dominican University next weekend.
