PAINESVILLE, Ohio-The Lake Erie College women's soccer team fell to the Northern Michigan University Wildcats 2-0 on Sunday (Oct. 16) afternoon at Jack Britt Memorial Stadium.
Lake Erie fell to 7-7 overall and 2-6 in the GLIAC with the loss.
Both teams were scoreless in the first half as Northern Michigan outshot the Storm 9-6 in the first 45 minutes.
In the 48th minute, Casey Durand found the back of the net for Northern Michigan. The Wildcats completed the scoring when Madison Hamilla scored off of an assist from Paula Hafner in the 76th minute.
For the game, Northern Michigan took 18 shots compared to Lake Erie's nine. Alecia Dipre (Mentor, Ohio / Mentor) took three shots for the Storm.
Marissa Brannon (Concord, Ohio / Lake Catholic) made seven saves with two goals allowed.
The Storm will be back in action when they host the University of Findlay next Sunday (Oct. 23).
