PAINESVILLE, Ohio- The Lake Erie College women's soccer team will make their Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) debut with a road matchup with the Arrows of Ursuline College on Wednesday (Sept. 5). Following the Arrows, the Storm will face the Wildcats of Daemen College on Friday (Sept. 8) on the road.
Storm Report: Lake Erie fell in the 2017 season opener to Ashland on Monday (Sept. 3). The Storm led 1-0 on a Kristen Redwood (Euclid, Ohio / West Geauga) goal in the first half but fell in overtime 2-1.
Opposition Position: Ursuline batted the University of Maine at Fort Kent to a 3-3 draw in their season opener on Monday (Sept. 4). Steph Chlad scored two of the three goals for the Arrows. Daemen enters the matchup with a 0-1-1 record after the Wildcats fell to Le Moyne 2-0 in their last match.
Series History: Lake Erie and Ursuline have met twice before on the pitch with Lake Erie winning both matchups. Lake Erie defeated the Arrows 1-0 in 2016 at home. In 2015, the Storm shut out Ursuline 3-0. The Storm have won three straight games against Daemen, all in the last three seasons. Lake Erie defeated the Wildcats at home 2-1 last season.
Storm Forecast: The Storm will return home for a non-conference matchup with Carlow on Monday (Sept. 11).
