PAINESVILLE, Ohio- The Lake Erie College women's soccer team will host the Alderson Broaddus Battlers and the Davis & Elkins Senators this weekend at home. The Storm will face the Battlers on Thursday (Sept. 21) at 8:30 PM and the Senators on Saturday (Sept. 23) at 6:00 PM.
Storm Report: Lake Erie is 2-4 overall and 1-2 in the Great Midwest games thus far. The Storm fell 5-0 at Ohio Dominican last weekend. Kristen Redwood (Euclid, Ohio / West Geauga) and Carley Kandel (Jeromesville, Ohio / Northwestern) lead the Storm with two goals each so far this season.
Opposition Position: Both Alderson Broaddus and Davis & Elkins are looking for their first wins of the season as they come to Painesville this week. The Battlers are 0-3-2 overall and 0-1-2 in G-MAC play this season. They were defeated 4-0 at home by Walsh in the last contest. Shelby Riddle and Rachel Gaspar each have one goal this season. Davis & Elkins also have a 0-3-2 overall mark and a 0-1-2 conference record. The Senators battled Malone to a 1-1 draw in double overtime in the last game. Tina Wulin and Brianna Rackey each have scored one goal apiece.
Series History: The Storm and the Battlers have only met once before in 2009 with the Battlers winning the match 4-1. Lake Erie and Davis & Elkins have met four times on the pitch with the Senators winning three of the four matches. The Storm fell 3-1 in the match last season.
Storm Forecast: Lake Erie will host Walsh and Malone for Great Midwest games next week at home.
