PAINESVILLE, Ohio- The Lake Erie College women's soccer team is looking to build upon two consecutive wins at home as the Storm plays host to Walsh and Malone this week at Jack Britt Memorial Stadium. Lake Erie will host Walsh on Thursday (Sept. 28) at 1:00 PM and Malone on Saturday (Sept. 28) at 7:00 PM.
Storm Report: Lake Erie is 4-4 overall and 3-2 in Great Midwest games following a 1-0 win over Davis & Elkins in the last game. Ashley Pryce (Stow, Ohio / Stow Munroe Falls) scored the only goal of the game in the win over the Senators. The Storm have won two straight overall and three straight at home. Carley Kandel (Jeromesville, Ohio / Northwestern) leads the Storm with three goals scored this season.
Opposition Position: Walsh enters the matchup with the Storm with a 7-0 overall mark and a 4-0 record in conference games. The Cavaliers were victorious over Kentucky Wesleyan 2-0 in their last match. Brianna Sanborn leads Walsh with five goals scored. Malone is 2-3-2 so far this season and 0-2-2 in Great Midwest games. The Pioneers fell 5-0 to Trevecca Nazarene last week on the road. Malone will face Ursuline before coming to Painesville. Danielle Lung is the leading scorer for Malone with four goals.
Series History: Lake Erie and Walsh have shared the pitch seven times in the series so far. Walsh holds a 5-1-1 series advantage so far after sweeping the two matches last season. The Storm and the Pioneers have faced off five times before with both teams winning two matchups each along with one draw.
