Storm Adds Six on Signing Day

PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College women's soccer program signed six student-athletes to their class of 2018. 

The six student-athletes signed with the Storm on Wednesday (Feb. 7) and Thursday (Feb. 8), and all will begin at Lake Erie in the fall. 

Head Coach Reni Lawrence said, "I am really excited about the depth and talent of this class. We've added some excellent student-athletes that the program and Lake Erie College can be proud of. I am extremely pleased with the direction of the program. The upperclassman have worked very hard this offseason and with the addition of these signees I think we are trending in a positive direction."

 Krista Harbart


North Royalton, Ohio / North Royalton High School

Whitecaps Soccer Club

Harbart was a four year letter winner and a team captain.  She was named Suburban League Second Team, and Defender of the Year.  Harbart plans on studying early childhood education.  

Coaches Comments: I have coached Krista for a couple years on club, and I have watched her grow technically and tactically. She is a very smart defender, a ball winner, and tough as nails. Plus as a defender she has great vision.We are very excited to have her join us.


Haley Scherer


Petrolia, Pa. / Karns City Area High School

Scherer was named the conference Most Valuable Player during her senior season.  She led the conference in goals with 34, and was a team captain.  She plans on studying biology while at Lake Erie. 

Coaches Comments: Haley is an offensive threat, she is aggressive, attacks the goal, and is a goal scorer. What I like about Haley, is that she doesn't care who she comes up against, she just goes at them and goes to the goal. She will be a huge help offensively to our team.



Juliet Tyma


Broadview Heights, Ohio / North Royalton High School

Ohio Alliance Soccer Club

Tyma was named to the All Greater Cleveland team, and was All-Conference Honorable Mention.  She plans on studying marketing or accounting. 

Coaches Comments:  Juliet is an aggressive, scrappy play maker that knows the game. Once I saw her play I knew she would be a great fit for us. She will help us offensively next year, and we are very happy to have her. 



Rachel Weber


Butler, Ohio / Loudonville High School

Ohio Strikers United Soccer Club

Weber was named First Team Tri-County Coaches Association, and First Team Mid-Buckeye Conference.  She was also named Defensive Player of the Year.  She plans on studying biology. 

Coaches Comments: Rachel is a strong keeper, who is competitive, focused, and intense on the field. I liked Rachel the minute I met her, and I know she will be a great fit to our program.  She has a take charge attitude, and she will stop at nothing to protect our goal.


Caleigh Hogan


Warren, Ohio / Howland High School

Soccer Vision Academy

Hogan was a named All-Conference three times in her high school career.  She was also named First Team all-county, and First Team all-district.

Coaches Comments: Caleigh is a tough defender who will bring energy and leadership to our team. She has a great attitude, is competitive and coachable. She will be a big help in our back line next year.



Alexandria Mathis


Parma, Ohio / Normandy High School

Everest Soccer Club

Mathis was named 2018 Goalie of the Year, and in 2016, she was named Second Team All-Conference.  Mathis plans on studying criminal justice.

Coaches Comments:  Ally is a hard worker who is focused, and locked in at all times. With the combination of her hard work and positive attitude, she will fit right in with our team next year.
