Women's Soccer Falls At Walsh

(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) - Despite multiple chances, the Lake Erie women's soccer team was unable to score in a 3-0 loss against Great Midwest Athletic Conference competitor Walsh Saturday night at Milazzo Field.

Walsh was aggressive early in the match scoring the first goal at the 20th minute mark as Megan Anderson crossed a ball to Walsh forward Olivia Peters who netted the goal in the top right corner of the goal. The Cavaliers rode the 1-0 lead into the halftime break.

In the 65th and 70th minute Walsh was able to score their second and third goals of the match capitalizing on quick transition breaks.

The Storm (4-3-2. 1-3-1 G-MAC) had multiple players take shots looking for scoring opportunities but were unsuccessful. Carley Kandel, Holland Erb, and Haley Scherer each attempted two shots.

Walsh out-shot Lake Erie 28-11 in the match. Although being outshot by the Cavaliers, freshman goalkeeper Megan Biddell recorded 11 saves of 14 shots on goal.

Next up for the Storm is a trip to Tennessee for a match with Trevecca Nazarene. Lake Erie will look to bounce back and secure a win against the three win Trojans. Kick-off for the match will be Thursday (Oct. 10) at 7 p.m.
