(PAINESVILLE, Ohio) - Lake Erie dropped its second straight home match this week as the Storm women's soccer team was shut out 4-0 by visiting Ohio Dominican Saturday afternoon at Jack Britt Memorial Stadium.
After defeating Ursuline earlier in the week, Ohio Dominican secured its second straight conference win for the Panthers who improved to 6-2 in G-MAC play, the loss moves Lake Erie to 2-5-1 in the G-MAC.
Ohio Dominican scored three times in the first half, opening the game with a goal that was sandwiched in the post by Lindsay Buten behind Storm goalkeeper Megan Biddell (Mentor, Ohio).
Samatha Buck scored two goals in the match, her first goal came in the 6th minute and followed up with another score in the 13th minute. Buck's two goal performance gives her nine total goals this season.
The last goal came in the final minutes of the match as Kiyha Adkins scored off an assist from Ohio Dominican player Morgan Kirk.
As for the Storm, they had five different players attempt a shot in the match. Ohio Dominican was able to maintain the shot advantage with 23 shot attempts while Lake Erie only put up five shot attempts.
Megan Biddell accounted for four saves in the first half of play. Biddell split time at goalkeeper with Rachel Weber (Butler, Ohio). Weber started the second half and finished the game with three saves on four shots on goal attempts.
Lake Erie women's soccer will look to improve it's record Friday, Oct. 25, as they travel to Findlay. The Oilers took the first meeting against the Storm early on in the season 3-0. Kick-off will begin at 4 p.m.
