Storm Hang Close to Knights

PAINESVILLE, Ohio (October 11, 2008) - Lake Erie College remained close the entire way, forcing the series to four games before eventually losing to visiting Gannon University, 25-21, 25-22, 17-25, 25-20 on Saturday afternoon.

The Storm lost by a combined 12 points, which is the closest series loss this season. The team also recorded several season-highs for a four-series match this season, including total team kills with 35 and total team digs with 71. In those specific categories freshman hitter Jenni Laureno (Lyndhurst, Ohio/Brush) had 11 kills and sophomore libero Lauren Johnson (Wellington, Ohio/Keystone) had 13 digs. Laureno also led the team with a total of four blocks. Freshman setter Lauren Bogatay (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) had 15 assists and senior hitter Tiffany Farner (West Salem, Ohio/Northwestern) had three service aces.

Lake Erie (4-13) hosts Edinboro on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
