Storm Falls to Clarion at Home


PAINESVILLE, OHIO --  The Lake Erie College volleyball team was defeated at home tonight (Sept. 15) by Clarion University, 3-0. 

The Eagles (9-2) won the first two sets convincingly, 25-15 and 25-15.  Lake Erie (6-9) mounted a comeback in the third before falling just short 28-26.

 Kellie Bartman led the way for the Eagles with nine kills while Danielle Brunot added seven. Amanda Gough had 34 assists and Rhianon Brady had 25 digs.

For Lake Erie, freshman Mary Walter (Solon, Ohio/Notre Dame Cathedral Latin) had seven kills and sophomore Michelle Naab (North Royalton, Ohio/North Royalton) added six. Sophomore Krista O'Connor had a team-high 11 assists and classmate Lauren Bogatay (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) had 10.

The Storm will look to get back on the winning track this weekend when it plays at Alderson-Broaddus on Saturday (Sept. 19) at 2:30 p.m.
