PAINESVILLE, OHIO -- Playing at home for the first time in nearly three weeks, the Lake Erie College volleyball team wasn't able to slow down red hot Edinboro University as the Fighting Scots won their 12th straight with a 3-0 straight set decision Wendesday night (Oct. 20) at the Jerome T. Osborne Family Athletic and Wellness Center.

The Scots (21-3) broke open a close game in the first set by scoring the final six points to take the game 25-14.  The Scots then won sets two and three by 25-13 and 25-12 counts, respectively.

Freshmen Molly Richardson (Ft. Wayne, Ind./Bishop Dwenger) and Jamie Hoppe (Green Springs, Ohio/Clyde) had four kills each to lead Lake Erie (3-19).

Beyaca Martin and Gina Boothe had 12 kills each to lead Edinboro.

The Storm continues its three-match homestand this weekend when it resumes Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference competition.  Lake Erie hosts Lake Superior State University Friday (Oct. 22) and Northwood University Saturday (Oct. 23). Both games are part of the Pink Wave/Dig Pink initiative to promote breast cancer awareness. All fans are encouraged to wear pink to the matches.
