Sophomore Molly Richardson (Fort Wayne, Ind./Bishop Dwenger) had a match-high 14 kills but it was not enough as for the second time in as many days Lake Erie College (3-22, 1-17 GLIAC) won the first set but fell in four sets, this time to Tiffin University (7-21, 6-13 GLIAC) at the Jerome T. Osborne Family Athletic and Wellness Center.

The Dragons took the match by a count of 19-25, 25-20, 25-15, 25-19.

Lake Erie hit for a higher percentage in the contest (.143-.132) and had 13more kills but the difference was 11 Tiffin aces.  Middle Hitters Destiny Prusky (Newton Falls, Ohio/Newton Falls) and Kristin Swann (Rochester Hills, Mich./Rochester) each had strong matches as well.  The freshman Prusky killed a career-high 11 balls and hit a .500 percentage while Swann had nine kills and a .368 percentage.  Sophomore Jamie Hoppe (Green Springs, Ohio/Clyde) added eight kills and 13 digs as well.

Senior Krista O'Connor (North Royalton, Ohio/North Royalton) directed the Lake Erie attack with 17 assists.

In the first set Tiffin jumped out to a 6-1 advantage before the Storm got rolling.  The set turned when back-to-back Richardson aces gave Lake Erie its first lead since 1-0 at 15-14.  The Green and White never relinquished that lead as a Tiffin error followed by a Richardson kill, a Swann kill and another Richardson kill gave Lake Erie the final four points of the set.

The Dragons jumped out to a similar advantage in set two and this time was able to keep the advantage throughout the set, though Lake Erie kept things close with a 25-20 result.

The third set was tied at 6-6 but got away from the Storm in a 25-15 Tiffin win.  In the final set the score was tied at 9-9 when the Dragons ran off six straight points.  Lake Erie made a late run but it was not enough as it fell 25-19.

The Storm plays its final match of the season tomorrow against Ashland University.  The match is Senior Day with a 2:00 p.m. start.
