HOUGHTON, Mich.-- The Lake Erie College volleyball team concluded their trip to the Upper Peninsula but were unable to come away with a win Saturday (Sept. 28), falling to Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) foe Michigan Technological University in straight sets (25-19, 25-22, 25-10).

The teams battled in the first and second sets but each time, the Huskies were able to gain a small advantage and close out the sets. In the third set, the Huskies rode the momentum they created in late in the second set, jumping out to an insurmountable lead.

Sara Aultz (Wooster, Ohio/Orrville) led the Storm offensive attack with seven kills. Mary Walter (Solon, Ohio/Notre Dame Cathedral Latin) had a solid all-around game, tallying six kills, five digs and one ace. Jamie Hoppe (Green Springs, Ohio/Clyde) led the Storm defensive front with nine digs while Samantha Knepley (Munith, Mich./Stockbridge) had seven.

Sylvie Rokosh led the Huskies with nine kills while Madeline Haben and Aubrey Ficek had six digs apiece.

The Storm is back in action Tuesday (Oct. 1), heading to Ashland University for a GLIAC contest.
