Storm Falls to Saginaw Valley, 3-0

PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College women's volleyball team was defeated today (October 11th) by Saginaw Valley St. University, 3-0.  With the loss the Storm is now 2-15 overall and 0-11 in the conference, and with the win the Cardinals improve to 10-6 overall and 7-4 in conference play. 

The offense for the Storm was led by freshmen hitter  Asya Hobbs (Lynwood, Ill. / Bishop Noll) who had 10 kills in the match.  Lake Erie College had 24 total kills and Saginaw Valley had 43 total kills.  The high in kills for the game was by Kaylee Schmitt of Saginaw Valley. 

The defense was led by freshmen Graesyn Engler (Perrysburg, Ohio / Perrysburg) and freshmen Sidney Fletcher (Saline, Mich. / Saline) who had 12 and 10 digs respectively for the Storm.  Engler posted the high in digs for the game, and Lake Erie had 43 total digs and Saginaw had 52 digs in the match. 

Lake Erie College will be back in action Friday (October 17th) when they travel to Illinois to play in the GLIAC/GLVC Crossover.
