AURORA, IL – The Lake Erie College volleyball team dropped a pair of games today (October 17th) against Illinois Springfield (3-0) and Quincy (3-0) at the GLIAC/GLVC Crossover.
In the first game the Storm offense was led by freshman hitter Asya Hobbs (Lynwood, Ill. / Bishop Noll) had 12 of the 31 kills in the match for Lake Erie. The game high in kills was posted by Shelby Geers of Springfield, she had 13 kills in the match.
The defense was led by Hobbs and freshman Graesyn Engler (Perrysburg, Ohio / Perrysburg) who had seven and six kills respectively. The Storm had 27 digs in the match and Sprinfield had 38, the game high in digs was 12 Kayla Katarzynski of Springfield.
In the second match of the double header the offense was led by Hobbs and freshman hitter Madison Russell (Westerville, Ohio / Westerville South) who had 10 and eight kills respectively for the Storm. In total the Storm had 39 kills and Quincy had 40 kills in the game.
The defense was led by Hobbs who had 13 digs and freshman Sidney Fletcher (Saline, Mich. / Saline) and sophomore Jamie Riley (Prospect, Ohio / Olentangy) each had 11 digs in the match. Lake Erie had 54 digs in total and Quincy had 51, Hobbs had a game high in digs with 13.
Lake Erie College will be back in action tomorrow when they finish off the GLIAC/GLVC Crossover when they take on Drury University.
