Storm Falls at Day 1 of the Mizuno Midwest Regional Crossover

AURORA, IL. – The Lake Erie College volleyball team was defeated today by Maryville in four sets at the Mizuno Midwest Regional Crossover. 

The Storm lost the first two sets 25-18, before taking the third set 25-22 to force a fourth set.  The Storm was unable to win the fourth set and fell to Maryville, 29-27 in the final frame. 

Offensively Lake Erie was led by a trio of players each who tallied double digit kills.  Bethany Fisher (Orrville, Ohio / Dalton) led the trio with 14 kills.  Crystal Kedroske (Dexter, Mich. / Dexter) and Courtney Stedman (Mount Prospect, Ill. / Hersey) each pitched in 12 and 10 kills respectively. 

Defensively for the Storm, Kedroske tallied a team high 19 digs.  In addition to Kedroske, Sidney Fletcher (Saline, Mich. / Saline) and Stedman each recorded 10 digs in the match. 

Lake Erie will be back in action tomorrow in the final day of the Mizuno Midwest Regional Crossover when they take on Mo. St. Lious and Kentucky Wesleyan at 10 A.M and 5 P.M. respectively.
