Storm Falls at Mizuno Midwest Regional Crossover

AURORA, Ill. – The Lake Erie College volleyball team was defeated by Mo. St. Louis and Kentucky Wesleyan in four sets today, in the final day of the Mizuno Midwest Regional Crossover.

In the first match the Storm fell in the first set (25-12), before bouncing back to take the second set (25-23).  The Storm dropped the final two sets (25-12) (25-20) and fell in four sets to the Tritons.

The Storm offense was led by Crystal Kedroske (Dexter, Mich. / Dexter) who tallied a match high 16 kills.  Madison Russell (Westerville, Ohio / Westerville South) also pitched in with 13 kills for the Storm. 

Defensively Sidney Fletcher (Saline, Mich. / Saline) and Jamie Riley (Prospect, Ohio / Olentangy) led the way for the Storm; each recorded 12 digs in the match.

In the second match the Panthers won the first set (25-20) before the Storm responded to win the second set (25-23).  Kentucky Wesleyan won the next two sets (25-19) (25-23), and won the match 3-1. 

Offensively, in the second match Russell and Kedroske led the way for the Storm with 17 and 15 kills respectively. 

Fletcher, Kedroske, and Alexis Thomas (Cincinnati, Oh / Fairfield) all recorded double digit digs for the Storm.  Fletcher led the way with 16 digs, while Kedroske and Thomas added 13 digs apiece.   

Lake Erie will be back in action Friday (October 23rd) when they travel to take on Wayne St. at 7 P.M.
