SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – The Lake Erie College women's volleyball team was victorious today over Notre Dame College in straight sets. With the win the Storm improves to 9-18 overall and with the loss the Falcons fall to 2-25 on the season.
The Storm scored the first point of the match, and never trailed in the first set. The Storm stretched their lead throughout the first set, and won 25-14.
The second set started as a back and forth battle that remained close until the Falcons opened a 22-16 lead. Lake Erie ended the second set on a 9-1 run to rally past the Falcons, to win the second set 25-23.
Neither team was able to pull away from the other in the third set, as the largest lead by either team was two points. The Storm pulled out the third set win, 27-25, to win the match in straight sets.
The offense was led by a trio of hitters. Leondra Barrett (Chattanooga, Tn. / Ooltewah), Crystal Kedroske (Dexter, Mich. / Dexter), and Madison Russell (Westerville, Ohio / Westerville South), all had double digit kills with 16, 13, and 11 respectively. The 16 kills by Barrett were a game high. Kedroske also led the way for the defense, as she had a match high 16 digs for the Storm.
Lake Erie will be back in action Friday (November 13th) when they travel to take on Findlay at 7 P.M.
