Coach's Comment: Morgan is a six rotation outside who is an amazing defender. She has great vision on the court and is as quick as they get in the back row. She has been a big time player for powerhouse Cadillac high school while also gaining experience in a very good club program where she sees top notch competition weekly. She will be a great addition as she adds a lot of experience and versatility to our team.

Why did you choose Lake Erie?

"I chose Lake Erie mostly because of the coaches and how welcoming the girls were to me when I first met them. I immediately felt like a part of the family. I also liked the campus size, I love smaller schools and Lake Erie was just the perfect fit to me."

Brooke is interested in studying sports management and psychology.

Coach's Comments: Brooke is fantastic six rotation outside. She is quick, explosive, has a great arm, and can serve receive and play defense as well as she can attack. She has the ability to take over a match and will adjust to the speed of the collegiate game well. She is the type of person we are excited to bring in as she works extremely hard on her game on and off the court. She will get an opportunity to play against great competition this spring as she competes for one of the premier clubs in Michigan. We think her future is extremely bright, as she continues to improve every time we see her.

Why did you choose Lake Erie?

"I chose Lake Erie College because I am excited to be a part of a new program that I can contribute to immediately. I want to continue to grow as a player and as a person at a college that offers strong academics, a competitive volleyball conference and is close to home. My family is very important to me and Lake Erie will allow them to continue to see me play. " Lexi is leaning towards studying child psychology or something that can give her the ability to work in the school systems helping those students who struggle in the traditional classroom become successful. She would also love to coach someday.

Coach's Comments: We are thrilled to be adding Lexi to our team for next year, as she is one of the top players in not only the Cleveland area but in all of Ohio. She is a middle attacker who possesses a great arm and an explosiveness and speed that is needed to compete at this level. She is a leader on and off the court, and is coming off an amazing senior year. We feel she will be a great addition to our team for next year and will be a huge piece to this program moving forward.

Shannon Holsinger

Roanoke, Virginia

Shannon plays for state powerhouse Cave Springs in Roanoke Virginia, where she has 177 kills, 47 blocks and 201 digs this year while hitting .330. She was a key member to their teams run to the state championship in 2014, and their current ranking of sixth in the state.

Why did you choose Lake Erie?

"I chose Lake Erie College for several reasons; a big factor in my decision was the potential the program has and the direction Coach Foeman believes it will go. I had the opportunity to sit down with Coach Foeman and hear his goals and aspirations for his future teams which matched completely with mine. I see how dedicated the coaching staff is to the growth of the program, to the individual player and the team as a whole, which made choosing to continue my volleyball career at the collegiate level at Lake Erie an easy one."

Shannon plans to study biology and eventually enter the medical field.

Coach's Comments: We are very excited to be bringing in Shannon to this class. She is another extremely athletic player who can play the pin positions at a high level. She has a great arm and is an already outstanding blocker, and has the vertical and defensive ability to compete at this level. On a side note, Shannon's sister, Erin, plays middle hitter for GLIAC power Hillsdale College.

Hailey Nielsen

Jonesville, Michigan

Hailey has amassed 812 kills 382 digs and 131 total blocks while hitting .310 for her career for the Jonesville Comets in Jonesville Michigan. This year she was named All-Conference, an AVCA MaxPreps Player of the Week for the entire state of Michigan, and an Esmark All-American. She was coached for one year by current Assistant Coach Remy McBain in high school, and played for Charged Up Volleyball club in 2015 where she played for current head coach Kevin Foeman for one year. She will also be running track and field while at Lake Erie.

Why did you choose Lake Erie?

"I chose Lake Erie because to me it felt like the best place to pursue my academic and athletic career, and it has a very welcoming environment."

Hailey plans on going into Special Education, where she hopes to become an Intervention Specialist for children with mild to moderate needs.

Coach's Comments: Hailey is a very explosive player who has a high ceiling. She broke into the volleyball scene recently, and put together a great junior and senior year along with a great club season. She will be a big addition to both Track and Field and Volleyball. Having coached Hailey in the past, I know how hard she works during practice and away from the court, and she is the type of person who we want in this program, hard-working and respectful.
