Storm Opens 2016 Season at Clarion Tournament (Preview)

Lake Erie College at the Tony Banner Memorial Tournament (Clarion)

PAINESVILLE, Ohio- The Lake Erie College volleyball team will commence the 2016 season as they travel to Clarion to take part in the 5th Annual Tony Banner Memorial Tournament. The Storm will take on Gannon (3:00 PM) and Clarion (7:00 PM) on Friday (September 2nd). Lake Erie will face Cedarville at 3:00 PM on Saturday (September 3rd).

Storm Report: The Storm will open the 2016 season under second year head coach Kevin Foeman. Under Foeman, Lake Erie finished the 2015 season with a 9-20 record. Nine returners on the team will lead the team as six freshman join the team this season.

Preseason Rankings: Lake Erie was selected to finish sixth in the GLIAC South Division in the Preseason Coaches Poll. The Findlay Oilers were chosen to win the South Division.

Series History: Gannon is the only team with prior match experience against the Storm. In 2012, Gannon defeated Lake Erie in three sets.

Opposition Position: Gannon, Clarion and Cedarville are all beginning their seasons at the Tony Banner Memorial Tournament.

Storm Forecast: The Storm will travel to Amherst, New York to participate in the Wildcat Classic at Daeman College on September 9th.
