PAINESVILLE, Ohio-After playing 14 of the first 15 matches on the road, the Lake Erie College volleyball team will return home to the Osborne Center this weekend for two GLIAC (Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) matches. The Storm hosts Ferris State on Friday (Sept. 30) and Grand Valley State on Saturday (Oct. 1) as a part of a five match homestand.
Storm Report: Lake Erie improved to 9-5 overall and 2-2 in the GLIAC with a 3-0 (25-11, 25-21, 25-17) win over Ohio Dominican University on Tuesday (Sept. 27). In the sweep, Crystal Kedroske (Dexter, Mich. / Dexter) led the Storm with 12 kills. Sidney Fletcher (Saline, Mich. /Saline) led the Storm's defensive front with 12 digs.
GLIAC Honorable Mention: Kedroske (Dexter, Mich. / Dexter) was named to the GLIAC Honorable Mention List for last week. In the Storm's two losses, the sophomore outside hitter totaled 21 kills, one service ace and 19 digs for the Storm.
Series History: Lake Erie has faced the Bulldogs and the Lakers six times on the volleyball court. The Storm has not been able to defeat either team in six chances.
Opposition Position: Ferris State and Grand Valley State faced off on Tuesday (Sept. 27) with the Bulldogs winning 3-1. The Bulldogs have an overall record of 9-5 and a 3-1 GLIAC record. Grand Valley enters the week with a 7-5 overall record and a 2-2 GLIAC mark.
Storm Forecast: The Storm will host Lake Superior State and Saginaw Valley State next weekend at the Osborne Center.
