PAINESVILLE, Ohio- The Lake Erie College volleyball team will open up a four game home stand this weekend with two GLIAC matchups and a non-conference matchup. The Storm will host Findlay at 7:00 PM on Friday (Oct. 28) and a tri-match including Wayne State and Wheeling Jesuit on Saturday (Oct. 29).
Tri-Match Schedule: Lake Erie faces Wayne State at 1:00 PM, Wayne State faces Wheeling Jesuit at 3:00 PM and Lake Erie takes on Wheeling Jesuit at 5:00 PM
Storm Report: The Storm enters this weekend with a 14-12 overall record following a 3-0 sweep of Northern Michigan on the road last weekend. Lake Erie is currently tied for eighth in the GLIAC with a 5-5 record.
GLIAC Honorable Mention: Senior Lee Lee Barrett (Chattanooga, Tenn. / Ooltewah) was named GLIAC South Honorable Mention for Week 8 as she finished the Storm's two matches with eight kills, four digs, four solo blocks and eight block assists.
Series History: Lake Erie had faced the University of Findlay 14 times since the 2009 season and the Oilers have won 14 straight matchups. Wayne State has a ten match winning streak over Lake Erie and Wheeling Jesuit has defeated the Storm in both matchups.
Opposition Position: The Oilers lead the GLIAC South and are second in the conference with a 9-2 mark in the GLIAC along with a 16-6 record overall. Findlay defeated Grand Valley State 3-1 last weekend. Wayne State holds a 17-5 overall mark and an 8-3 GLIAC record following a 3-2 loss to Ferris State in their last game. Wheeling Jesuit, the defending Division II National Champions, are 25-2 overall with a perfect 11-0 record in the Mountain East Conference so far.
Storm Forecast: Lake Erie will honor the senior class with a home matchup against Ohio Dominican on Tuesday (Nov. 1).
