Volleyball Travels for Three Great Midwest Matches (Preview)

PAINESVILLE, Ohio- The Lake Erie College women's volleyball team will continue Great Midwest play with a three match weekend on the road. The Storm will face the Davis & Elkins College Senators on Friday (Oct. 27) at 7:00 PM. Then, Lake Erie will take on the Ohio Valley University Fighting Scots on Saturday (Oct. 28) at 1:00 PM. The Alderson Broaddus University Battlers will be the Storm's third match of the weekend on Sunday (Oct. 29) at 1:00 PM.

Storm Report: Lake Erie enters the weekend with a 19-7 overall record and a 9-3 G-MAC record, best in the East Division. The Storm defeated Trevecca Nazarene 3-0 in their last match, for Lake Erie's fifth straight victory. Brooke Peiffer (Lansing, Mich. / Holt) became the third different Storm player to be named Great Midwest East Division Player of the Week on Monday (Oct. 23). Peiffer finished with 43 kills (3.58 kills per set) and 36 digs (3 digs per set) in the Storm's 4-0 week with 12 set wins.

Opposition Position: Davis & Elkins is 8-16 overall and 6-6 in the conference after a 3-0 defeat against Cedarville. Ohio Valley enters the weekend with an 8-15 overall record and a 3-9 record in the G-MAC. The Fighting Scots fell 3-0 to Cedarville and will host the Ursuline College Arrows prior to facing the Storm. Alderson Broaddus has a 7-17 overall record (1-11 in G-MAC) following a loss at the hands of Ohio Dominican. The Battlers will also host Ursuline prior to hosting the Storm.

Series History: Lake Erie has defeated all three opponents once this season as the Storm swept a weekend back in September at home. Overall, Lake Erie has won the last two matches against Davis & Elkins. With the Storm's win in September, Lake Erie has won all four matchups against the Fighting Scots. Lake Erie is 4-1 versus Alderson Broaddus, including four straight victories.

Storm Forecast: Lake Erie will play in their final road game in a matchup with #23 Wheeling Jesuit on November 1st.
