Painesville, OH - Lake Erie College Athletics Director of Athletics Kelley Kish has announced the hiring of Kyle Peck as the new head coach of the Storm Volleyball program.
Peck joins Lake Erie after most recently serving as the indoor assistant coach and head beach volleyball program at Cason-Newman University (DII). Prior to Carson-Newman, Peck was the head coach at Gulf Coast State College (Florida).
In six years as the head coach at Gulf Coast, Peck posted a school record 115 wins and two Panhandle Conference Championships. He recruited and trained 16 all-conference selections, including two Players of the Year, two all-region picks and the program's first ever All-American.
Peck looks to bring that winning and championship experience to LEC stating, "I'd like to thank Kelley Kish and the Lake Erie Administration for their faith in me to lead Lake Erie Volleyball. It's a very exciting time for Storm Volleyball and I'm anxious to continue and hopefully further the recent success they've seen."
Peck has had assistant coach stints at Mercer University (DI), University of Central Florida (DI), University of West Alabama (DII) and Hiram College (DIII).
"We are excited to have Kyle join the Lake Erie community," Kish said. "Kyle possesses an impressive background as a high-level college coach and professional beach player. His track record of success in recruiting competitive student-athletes who strive for their best on the court and in the classroom will be a great fit to lead Storm Volleyball to new heights."
The Storm are coming off of a 2017 GMAC Division Championship and appearance in the tournament semifinals with a 26-9 record.
The first serve of the 2018 season will be on Friday, August 24th vs. Gannon at the Daemen Volleyball Classic. Peck's home debut will be on Friday, September 7th vs. GMAC opponent Findlay.
