INDIANAPOLIS - The Greater Midwest Athletic Conference has released Players of the Week honors for the week of September 3.
Storm junior, Morgan Briggs, has been selected as the G-MAC East Player of the Week. Briggs had a huge weekend on the court holding down the defense for the Storm, as they went 3-1 this weekend at the Quality Inn Crimson Hawk Invitational.
Briggs averaged over seven digs (7.2) per set to lead all players in the conference. In 14 sets played, she totaled over 100 digs on the week in four matches.
Briggs had 35 digs and five service aces in the five-set win over Holy Family. The single-match dig total is among the best top-10 efforts in league history.
Briggs also dug out 28 attack attempts vs. West Liberty, recorded 21 against Roberts Wesleyan and finished with 17 against Indiana (PA).
Lake Erie is off to a 5-2 start under first season head coach Kyle Peck.
The Storm returns to the court tonight against Kentucky Wesleyan tonight at 7pm.
