The Lake Erie College Storm (3-9) open up G-MAC season tomorrow, September 27 with a match against Tiffin (5-6), followed by Cedarville (5-5) on Saturday and Frostburg State (6-3) on Sunday. The team heads into this weekend coming off a two-game win-streak over Urbana and Central State.
The Dragons were picked third in the 2019 Great Midwest Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches Poll.
In a head-to-head matchup, the Dragons outperform the Storm on paper in every major statistical category, including kills per set (13.13), hitting percentage (.208%), assists per set (11.80), blocks per set (1.53), service aces per set (1.38), and digs per set (17.36).
Jenna Huffman has recorded 210 kills through 11 matches with a hitting percentage of .264%. Huffman is currently ranked third overall in NCAA Division II kills per set, averaging 4.88.
The Yellow Jackets were picked sixth in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches poll, right behind the Storm.
In a matchup, the Yellow Jackets outperform the Storm on paper in every statistical category except one including kills per set (11.9), hitting percentage (.179), assists per set (11.2), aces per set (2.5), and blocks per set (2.1). The Storm outperforms in digs per set, as Cedarville averages 15.2.
Liene Miller cracked the top 50 in NCAA II kills per set, averaging 3.67 kills in 36 sets.
