Storm Not Enough For Dragons

The Lake Erie College Storm volleyball team lost to the Tiffin University Dragons with a final score of 3-0 tonight. With the loss, the Storm falls to 3-10 overall and gets their first conference loss of the season, while the Dragons earn their first conference win of the season and moves to a .500 record for the 2019 season.

The Storm fought hard during the first two sets of the match against the Dragons, with set scores of 21-25, 28-26, but fell 15-25 in the third set. In the second set of the match, the Storm trailed 6-3 and went on a nine-point run to go up 10-6, their largest momentum swing of the night, but the Storm defense was overpowered by Tiffin's hitters.

Storm freshman Taylor Metzler led the Storm offense, earning 12 kills and posted a hitting percentage of .226. On defense, Kaylee Hiser earned 15 digs tonight as the Storm libero against a hard-hitting Dragons squad.

Tomorrow the Storm takes on Cedarville in their second conference game of the season. The match will begin at 5pm.
