Storm Finishes West Virginia Road Trip With A Win

VIENNA, West Virginia

The Lake Erie Storm volleyball team finished their final regular-season road trip of the 2019 season with a win over Ohio Valley today. With the win, the Storm improves to 10-18, 4-6. The loss brings Ohio Valley to 10-14, 2-9.

The Storm won the first set with a final score of 25-15. Ohio Valley took the second set (23-25), but the Storm sealed the deal by winning sets three (25-21) and four (25-15).

Leading the Storm today was senior Hailey Nielsen, recording 12 kills and a hitting percentage of .407. Freshman Dora Olah added ten kills. 

Defensively, Moe Briggs recorded 21 digs and one reception. 

Setters Alexandria Beccera and Hallie Zumack both were active in the win over Ohio Valley, recording 20 and 18 assists respectively.

Head coach Kyle Peck was happy to come back to Painesville on a win. "We're still working on playing well on a consistent basis.", said Peck. "We have flashes of brilliance, and we need to turn those flashes into everyday occurrences. When we're on our game, we're tough to beat".

Storm volleyball will finish the regular season at home with matches against G-MAC foes Findlay and the volleyball powerhouse Hillsdale next weekend. Stay tuned for match previews for those two contests early next week.
